The hunting area is in game management unit 20A, known as the Wood River and Yanert River Drainages, just east of Denali National Park. This area is known for healthy populations of big game species. This hunting area has a long history of hunting starting with market hunting during the gold rush days of early Alaska and Trophy Sport hunting dating back to the 1920's. |
|
The main hunting area consists of several hundred square miles of mountainous country where hunting from horseback makes for an adventurous experience. Being a horseback type of hunting experience we use pack horses to provide for a mobile spike camp type of hunt. A hunter can expect to cover hundreds of square miles of country during the average hunt.
Hunting by horseback is done by using both riding saddle horses and pack horses to carry our needed gear and camp supplies. My hunts are one on one guided, and each hunter has a guide.
